I asked a similar question a while back and it seems they can either pull you over or send an NIP through the post to you either way could end in the same resaults.

Yes, but you have to be careful though.

Friend of mine went past a couple of coppers pointing a speed gun at him. He saw the flash go off and looked at his speedo and knew he wasn't speeding.
So he turned the car around and went past them again to see what was up and they was pointing the gun at him again. Got another flash.
Boggled about it as he still wasn't speeding he turned around to go home and think nothing more of it. Going past for the last time he got flashed again and thought "retards" and went home.

2 days later he got 3 fines for not wearing a seatbelt. Incidents time stamped 2 minutes apart.

So there you go. Never think you're home clear! Razz

Maybe they didn't clock you speeding. Or maybe your speeding was within their error margin.
Maybe they just ate 6 donuts each and couldn't be arsed moving Razz

No idea really. Just wait a few days and see what happens Smile
They could have just pointed it at you to scare the sh!t out of you too... I wouldn't put it past them.

I'm not sure if they do this. But could they have taken a picture of your plate just to check insurance and tax later? Or do they normally do that on the spot?

It does seem to me like if they "are" pulling people over for speeding and they didn't pull you, you're ok. Smile
