Call to ride 2009 20,000 riders needed! *insane little proj*

Right I've been thinking about this for a while, and I thought hell why not.

Ok I fancy getting my name in the guiness book of records however since I am an ordinary person and of limited funds and abilities being completely ordinary this will be difficult. Ie I can't do 100metres in less than 9 seconds , I don't have the cash or space to do a 250mph+ wheelie.

However after seeing a couple of pointless records ie biggest rolled cigar in Cuba and also this really silly one in Blackpool ie most drag queens singing on the pier at one time I hit upon an idea to get a pointless phyric type record you know so in the far flung future I can corner younger bikers (if they aren't banned by 2050) and regale them of my tails of a record, have them not believe me and me produce a book from 2009 to prove them wrong at which they say its a pointless record anyway at which I rebuttle at least I got a record kiddo!

Most wheelies at the same time over a 250 metre stretch? seems reasonable enough right? with a failure rate of 25% thats still 3000 wheelies right?, and the BCF active membership is just big enough for this.

This is why I wanted to hire an airfield abut 6 months ago but never got around to doing it.

Why you wonder I want 20,000 riders, based on the 40% rule only 8000 riders will turn up, of which 4000 will bicker amongst themselves Ie G and Siggi, while the rest of the riders get on with it

Thus officials from the GBoR come watch us do it we get 4000 BCFers names in the guiness book of records Visordown is BURIED for a few weeks , the BCF membership increases a bit,

We raise some money for charity to counter the constant adverse publicity bikers get which will be donated so an airambulance and or a childrens charity of some kind.

4000BCFers get onto the cover of Ride (though G/Bend & kickstart are always in it anyway).


Complications:

Might have to happen in France/Ireland due to liability issues

We need to find some sucker to put their name down as the responsible person.

We need a massive airfield to be able to do this, in France/Ireland

We need some sort of liability waiver for all 4000 participants to sign....

There is not 4000 active users here, let alone 4000 active users that can wheelie, let alone 4000 active users who would travel and participate, and 3990 of those users if they did turn up would get "stage fright" - "oh sorry I could wheely for 3 miles with my eyes closed last week but my tyres a bit square now and the throttles a bit tight so I could only manage 3 meters this time"

Visordown done it and you have to keep it up for X amount of time for it to count.

You're numbers are so out its unreal. 20k people let alone 4k people

anyone can easily do one on any bike, and could stretch in one long line along the length of a runway which would reduced any accidents.


in fact the sheer amount of smoke from even a few hundred bikes would be seen from space.

I reckon the number of active users is closer to less than a couple of hundred if that so I think you need to reconsider your target, something thats going to be easy for BCF.

What about 'highest number of non starters because the battery is flat' posts
or
'Highest number of posts by a none bike owner on a bike forum'

Or for a definite winner go for the ' most pointless use of a single picture of a standard gixxer irrespective of the context of the original post.'

Have to find somewhere that would let you have that many burnouts - airfields don't like burnouts 'cos it knackers the surface and leaves bits of rubber sprayed everywhere.

In the UK, you'd probably have some health and safety issues too.

I suspect this is the wrong forum to try and organise a very large number of people to do such a thing.
