What type of places mate?

If you're looking for generally friendly bars then there's loads of places, Liverpool's got an undeserved bad rep, most of the pubs you choose in town will be great.

Try Bar Cava if you like Tequila, (Its boiling in there, and packed!) the Jackoranda is another of my faves, there's a place called The Swan which is a old rock/biker pub, The Fly in the Loaf is good if you like your beers, but properly expensive for some (Fiver a pint of strawberry beer, but you have to try it if you go in there!) Korova is good as well, but quite expensive.

If you like your rock, try the Krazyhouse on Wood St, it's gone a bit emo over the years but probably worth a look if you're not from the area.

Club wise, I can't really help you there as it's not my thing but I quite like Modo, the music's good and the drinks are nice enough, plus there's LOADS of upmarket places around there.

Drum and Bass in Zanzibar or the Lemon Lounge (Zanzibar is bigger, Lemon Lounge is like a cupboard!)

If you want upmarket places there's loads on the Albert Dock, but beware, they're mega expensive and you will probably have trouble getting a taxi back to wherever you're staying.

If you're looking for somewhere to eat before you go into town jump on the 80/86 bus and head to Allerton Road, there's loads of decent restaurants there such as Spire, Ark, The Tavern, Tai Ping, Siam Garden, etc and it's a 15 minute bus ride into town (Plus I live about 30 seconds from there, so know it well), other than that, there's a chippy near Bold Street called The Lobster Pot which is famous Smile

Avoid walkabout or any other chain bar, unless you like that sort of thing as they can be quite rough, like any other town centre.

All the Irish pubs are great as well.

Try to avoid night clubs also when we're out, a good pub with music thats open late is always an winner!

Cheers for the insite. Thumbs Up

Is there a particular place/street/area that has more than a few bars within the same distance worth visiting?

Ah, if that's your thing, try Django's Riff, and Magnet. Magnet is open til six, and does triple shots if I recall correctly Smile

Everywhere is within walking distance in town to be honest mate but the big ones are Hanover Street, Hardman Street (Pubs more than anything), Concert Square (Where all the posh bits are), Bold Street/Wood Street (More alternative, where the Krazyhouse and Bar Cava reside)

If you need something to eat late on there's an Eddie Rockets on Bold Street too (60's style burger bar, it's awesome)

I've heard off a mate who's at uni in Liverpool that it's a really great place to go out whatever you like. Clubs, pubs, bars, posh lounges, whatever it's supposed to be awesome.

I'll definitely have to head up there sometime!

It's the best town I've gone out in, and everyone in general is really friendly.

That said, I quite like Warrington as well (Even though it is VERY rough in places)

Awwwww it reminds me of being at uni and getting so wasted on tequila I could barely see! . . memories.

I'm glad those places are still there! Very Happy

Think I may have to pay a visit sometime . . .

Is Slaters still there? That place was so overrated!

Heebie Jeebies off Bold Street was cool, dunno if it still exists though!

When I was there it was safer to stick to the student areas if you didn't fancy a fight! Thumbs Up

Is Bar Bar still there? It had two tiny shitters, I had to join the queue, the queue being for a free basin in the girls toilets.

I met Mel C in there, straight up. Had to twat a couple of scousers that night, too. Had a kebab. Then I got pulled off in a full cab on the way home. You didn't fuck with Harold in 1998.

Yup, at least it was. But it wasn't very gay cos everyone loved going there, which made it more of a gay bar by name than nature!

liverpool is a great place to go out

baa bar is no longer good

but there are lots of new places that are good,

i like the ones between bold street and cream

however it is liverpool, so be careful with your valuables

for anyone who moans, rates of theft are twice the national average, burglaries are 3 times the national average

Yeah, quite partial to a bottle or two of Wapping Baltic Gold, which is one of the main beers they brew.
