No plans are best!!!! I leave Yorkshire on the 12th June down to bath to a bike rally then sail to Bilbao Sunday night. Then I am heading south west over hills then down west coast, south coast to Barcelona then north back up through France to get ferry about 8th July. I have no definite plans but that’s the route I fancy but I guess I will change it. I am not planning on riding every day either and going solo.

Ie take lots of photos , tell us of any good routes you find and remember enough to give us a proper write up. Thumbs Up

I've just booked three weeks off in July (5th - 27th) and am doing pretty much the same thing except I'm going down through France to get to Spain.

Just going to spend three weeks riding along the coast, relaxing on beaches and enjoying the food and drink. I've bought a TomTom rider but mainly just to make finding hotels/campsites/petrol stations easier.

How much was your ferry straight to Spain? Seemed pretty pricey when I looked (about £500 return).

Would be cool to meet up for a beer in France/Spain!

Bilbao is always more expensive, Santander is 50km away and 130 one way, I thought this ferry as it saves me 1000 miles going through France and Nothern France is boring , since you are going to be going down and me going upwards How about a meet in Adorra or maybe Barca with Svedebo who lives there?.

Well if it's only £130 one-way then I can totally see your point. Who did you book that through? I'm quite tempted to book that myself and save a whole load of miles!

crap I haven't booked it yet they've removed the reclining seat option on the plym santander ferry so you have to book a room , costs are closer to £290, scrap that...

I booked a ticket on the Plymouth to Santander on the 6th July last night. I got a reclining seat and the total came to £155. Maybe theyve sold out of seats on that particular crossing.

Looks like we might meet on the ferry , I'm going to Plymouth a couple days early to meet with the plymouth group.

Come say hi at Captain Jaspers.

Sounds good to me!

Yes. A few friends of mine were originally planning to come along but for various reasons they've all dropped out. I've never done any bike touring either so should be a cool experience.
