Quangos

Hi

Bit in yesterdays Sunday Times about Quangos.

Seems that there are 1162 of them (plenty of which are necessary) with funding of about £65b.

Some idea of where you tax goes.

Seems the DVLAs total expenditure is just off half a billion pounds.

I have been keeping a beady eye on them Quangos since Labour go in.
It has now reached the level where it is beyond shock or worry - and just make me laugh.

I think that the above is one of the most prevalent techniques for masking this kind of activity - the sums involved are so astronomical, and the stated purposes so ludicrous that the average Joe on the street just shakes his head and forgets about it.

I know it annoys me, but I honestly don't know what the answer is - although I know that the problem is largely down to a corrupt self-serving body-politic that is too quick to throw a sop to powerful minority lobby groups.
