Hello Folks
Im new to this touring game and was wondering if i can get some guidance on how to go about planning this.
Basically, Me and a special friend are planning on moving to the USA in a few years time, but we thought that before we Settled down the The States, we could tour Oz from Brisbane -> Sydney -> Perth. Then we make our way over to the good ol' US of A and settle down for a life worth living.
Heres the Snag:
I have no idea what i need to be doing regarding visas, emigration controls etc
No idea what to Take with us for the purposes of the tour, im thinking that we need very little seen as though were leaving the UK behind, so im assuming just spare clothes, money, passports, licenses, tent, and all the essentials (water, First Aid, Food) etc
As i understand it, US fuel is different to our Super juice here... will i need a new bike when i get to the US or can i get parts changed to suit the new fuel?
Any help is very much appreciated!

I'm a bit confused, are you touring the US or OZ?
Unless your bike is mega rare shipping it around the world 1.5 times to OZ then to America isn't going to be worth it, just rent one to tour on and buy a new one when you emigrate.
I'm not sure how much planning you've done, but if your planning on just turning up to live in either country I think your in for a bit of a shock, the visa application process is a long drawn out affair.
Just for touring for a few weeks, you'll be fine on a regular tourist visa in either country. ____________________ Yamaha FZR400RR 3tj

I dunno you can ship a bike to oz for £850, the problem is getting it registered there. Ie I can ship me CBR to HK fairly cheaply even fly it out there for £600 but I need a new numberplate for it.
Also what do you mean emigrate and settle? , it requires lots of forms lots of time and a fair chunk of cash. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die.
