sorry if some don't make no sence, i'm crap at writing things like this and copied and pasted from xt660.com forum

Friday

Had a decent ride up, got 30 miles up road and arrived at first destination, Cambridge services to meet Thorsten from denmark, got a text saying he'd taken a wrong turning and sat nav told him to go through middle of cambridge so waited a little longer, while waiting 2 guys arrived one on a yamaha dragster 1100 & other on some big BMW, after talking a little while we realised they where on sam ferry as Thorsten, anyway about an hour later they left and a guy on a spankin new gsxr750 arrived, i drbbled a bit and a little pee come out, but theen looked back at my bike and thought, nah mines better hehe

he left then just started getting into a game of bubble breaker on me phone and thorsten arrives, woohoo! just glad he made it safely, don't matter he was late

anyways we set off on our way using me routefinder print off, which quickly went wrong so we followed thorstens sat nav which was a safer option lol

had a little race with a mitsy evo which sat on my arse all the way to 130, then remembeered thorsten only knew where we where going slow slowed down a little OOPS!

arrived at campsite near Buxton to lots of waving and happy campers, immediatly opened a can of fosters, set up tent which took about 2 minutes and made our way down the pub

they wasn't doing food but where very hospitible and stuck some on for us, good stuff!

a few beers where had then across the road to the other pub in the village where lots of beer was consumed, some chick turned up and sat with us who for some reason kept declining to get her baps out for a photo, would of been a good picture to have while alone in tent!

back to campsite at 2am which felt like a 2 hour walk! with lots of toilet stops and conversations with the cows, once back we started to do autopsys on each others bikes till 4am, was daylight when we finally hit the sack!

Saturday

woke up to rain and very low cloud
got up, gear on and off to the local portacabin for brekkie, 2 bacon baps & a huge cup of tea, yummy!
then headed back to campsite after a phone call from others who where just out for the saturday ride, yep still raining so not a great turnout but still there was 10 bikes altogether & 2 pillions
stood round and had a chat and hoped the weather would get better but no chance so all headed off, i'll post a picture of the route but if you look at it we only did the right hand loop as everyone was soaked after 100 miles
during the ride we had some fun in a ford and went down some very sketchy roads, well they where for me anyway but was real good fun
stopped in bakewell at a cafe for some warm food and drink & one of the workers in cafe kindly put a few gloves on there heater from which they returned still soaked and steaming like mad
returning back to ride, still raining but all still in good spirits and enjoying ourselves
Gaz nearly went off roading cos calumn was on back falling asleep so kept trying to wake him up, thorsten had a bit of a twitch and me... well thoguht i was in 3rd but was in 2nd so nailed it to overtake 2 cars and me arse whipped about a little!! if i looked to me left i'd probably of seen me wheel, thought to meself 's**t i'm going down!!' but sumhow saved it?!?!?! to the amazement of the people behind me!
arrived back at buxton and decided to head back to camp, get dry and head for pub for food & a little more booze
got to pub and they wasn't serving food so they give us a chinese menu and let us get it delivered to pub, the kind landlady even gave us all plates and cuttlery, all ordered our chinese but they had given me chips instead of chiken balls so Gaz was stright on the blower about me missing balls, they eventually arrive with a bag of prawn crackers for the trouble
anyway we all finished our grub and i finished chewing me balls and back on the booze!!!
several pints of fosters later and a few summons to get up and dance by some crazy man we decided to call it a night at about 1am.
got taxi back had a few more drinks at campsite then gaz got out a big bag of munch so i dived into a pack of rich tea biccys, got about halfway through them and realised i had really bad cotten mouth but didn't care cos they where tasting damn good, sat about talkin and a few smokes then decided to hit the sack
got rudly awoken early by the wind! damn that was strong! gaz's tent got blown over with him and calumn inside and i was just to scared to move cos i thought all hell was breaking loose! and too shagged to even think about moving!

anyways we all packed up our camping gear and headed our seperate ways, about 11:30am, i was riding back on me own so was following me routfinder printout which went badly wrong after 30-40 miles, ended up heading north for 20-30 miles near to doncaster, pulled over at a garage grabbed uk road atlas off shelf slapped it on the counter and squeeled 'Help I think me be a bit lost'
she sent me on me way and was back on track within a few miles and onto the A1, next stop was 100 miles later near huntingdon, had to kind of fall off te bike cos i was stuck in same position from where me leathers had all dried from previous day, had a stretch, smoke, sarnie & back on me way. arrived home at 3:30 got all me gear off and sat to watch the F1 & Moto GP which me dad had recorded for me, well watched about 10 laps of F1 then woke up to the podium on Moto GP, will watch another time maybe
anyways was an absalute blinding weekend with great company and can't wait to go again!

Nice little write up, good pics too, looks like you had a good weekend.

Took me ages to realise where the pub is that you were on about, thought the writing in the window was familiar Laughing

Damn, you missed my edit Laughing

Yeah I recognised it when I saw the writing in the window, went past there twice on friday afternoon, saw a load of bikes parked just off the roundabout on the outskirts of dove holes near the big pink butty van but I don't think it was you lot.

Always ride back home through the peak district upto Glossop and then over the Pennine moors at Holmfirth.

Only problem is the shed load of 50mph blanket speed limits being put up. Can be quite a haven for cops on the more popular bike routes. Luckily I'm usually riding them at off peak times like Tuesday afternoons and the what not Smile

I noticed that while up there, 50 limit all over the place & if its not 50 the damn roads been recurfaced with loose chippings all over place
