Ok not so much an appreciation thread, but just after some pics of them modifyed in some way.(even if it's just graphics?)
Looking for ideas of things to do with mine.
So if you got one with any nice tastefull mods,i'd appreciate some pics
No pics of mine just yet,but it's standard anyway so not really worth showing
Thanks

Best thing I could think of to improve your bike sorry man.
*Joke*
Nice to know that it's still easy to wind people up. I remember when bikers were tough and knew what humour was. |

Fuel end can....
Very impressed
Went down to fuel exhausts today to get my new exhaust.
They said they had never tryed the exhaust on a 98 model cb5 so they could either send the can and link pipe out for me to try,or go to their workshop and they would fit it up for me.
So anyway,it fitted fine and is now on.
While i waited there, louise (the owner) fed me coffee and kendal mint cake while i waited for the exhaust to be fitted .
Both of them (louise and her husband, who's name i cant remember ) were lovely people to deal with, and made me feel right at home.
Now onto the exhaust...Because it was so cheap (£145 for can and link pipe) i was expecting the quality to be, well not great but was pleasantly suprised. It is exactly what you would get if you went to any other exhaust manufacturers but a lot less cash.
The sound is absolutely awesome with the baffle in (not too loud, but has a nice and beefy sound to it) then when you take the baffle out it goes quite a bit louder, with a very low rumble type noise to it...hard to explain but sounds excellent both ways (i took the baffle out as soon as i got home, and it's staying out ) and makes it hard to believe the bike is only a 500cc.
The best part of all for me is the way the throttle response is now,so clean and crisp, and has loads more torque in the lower rev range.at higher revs theres more power aswell which i noticed on the way home as the speed increases in 6th gear from 50-90mph much quicker than before.
I will add a video clip later on when i sort one out,but all in all i'm well impressed with this exhaust, and will definately advise the rest of my family who have bikes to buy from fuel exhausts...
And no i'm not on commision but i promised another member on here (leogreek) that i would write a small review of what i thought of it...so leo, trust me you have to get one
Hope this write up helps someone else who is looking for an exhaust aswell....
Thanks
Dave
Copy and pasted from another forum i posted it up on...just thought id add it here aswell

can you not like, get ohlins shcoks or something?
Or even just make it totally naked and get the infill panels?
These bikes are ugly as hell in a faired version but naked theyre quite nice. I ride a GS500e but it's got something 'sporty' about it than the cb5...
Possibly a lack of duel shocks
Seriously though, nc30 swing arm, kick up the rear end a bit, ohlins shocks and perhaps some rearsets made to fit from something like a cbr, should look nice.
Theres nothing that can't be done with time and a hammer ____________________ Current Bike: 1996 Yamaha TRX850 (The Japanese-Ducati One).

I actually like the general look of it now,but i do want to change the swing arm.
No idea which one i could get to fit,so might be a bit of trial and error there.
Iv'e been told the older cbr6 front end goes on it,which will give me the twin disk front.
I'm looking at a belly pan for it,then going to chane the shocks for hagon ones.
Sort of like this:
https://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x13/fronterapics/bikepics-433838-full.jpg
Not this exact belly pan,but something like it.
Tail tidy will be done in the next couple of day's.
Then after the hugger above the rear wheel.
Not getting rid of the fairing either,i like it ____________________ DRZ-400sm |
