I'm looking to buy a WR 250F for green-laning use and then maybe if i get a bit of confidence, a hare & hounds event next year.
For the most part it will just be the green-laning however and i was wondering how far you could ride a bike such as the WR on road - for getting to and from trails/meets before you are looking at trouble?
I'm looking at my Trf website (kent) and they meet up 19miles away from my house and i was wondering if this was a bit too far for a 250 enduro engine on the road? ____________________ Its Not a Melon, Its Clearly a Lime!!

ah ok - i didnt want to ride it for 20 miles and find out it will blow up on me
I haven't bought the bike yet, but the mechanic at work has an '04 wr250f (registered in 06) with aftermarket exhaust (cant remember what brand but all adjusted to suit), bash plates, hand guards and a bunch of other useful accessories for £2200.
Now i just need to get the bike and then find some people to ride with and i will be set.
Never ridden off-road yet so hopefully will enjoy it lol - otherwise an expensive mistake.
I would do a experience day if i could, but there are none available locally untill very late in the year and obviously will lose out on the bike deal. Been interested in off-roading for years so im sure it wont dissapoint.
The other bike i was looking at was the KTM 250 excF but they are very highly priced compared to the yamahas and i suspect this is because of the lack of new 08 stock.
Anyone got any experience or horror stories of the WR that i should be aware of? ____________________ Its Not a Melon, Its Clearly a Lime!!
