I also found this an elegant solution to make sure that all 4 pistons come out evenly. Keep one pad there, so they can almost come all the way out. It saves one popping out and ruining it for the rest of 'em.

That is bad but I have seen worse.

Once the calipers are back together again,be careful how you use your brakes until you recalibrate yourself to brakes that will work so much better.

Sidewinder, brake fluid should be clear-ish, not dark and semi solid. Also all the seals are full of gunk as you can see.

I have barely used my front brake in a while, I tend to come to a halt with my back brake but use engine braking for everything.

When you change pads have a look in your master cylinder (you may have to open it to slide pistons back anyways) and check the condition of the fluid.

At the caliper end you will only be able to check the seals and pistons. Just make sure they aren't full of crap and that the seals aren't popping out to say hello, then you will likely have to strip like I have. Thumbs Down
