Does anyone pay to store their bike i.e in a garage, i was thinking about renting a locked garage to put my scooter in because i can't get access to my backyard at the moment, but it would set me back a tenner a week is that about about average seems abit steep? A fiver seems more reasonable.. What do people normally get charged?

To try and get the cost down, you could look for people advertising 'garage wanted' (try https://www.gumtree.com for your area) and contact them to see if they are willing to share a garage with you. Half the cost, and you dont need more than half a garage for a bike anyway.

Thats what I did, and now I share a garage with two guys who have kayaks. So I only pay £20 a month and they pay £30 between them. Theres no way I was paying £50 per month on my own. And some even wanted £60/month.

10 pound is more than reasonable to keep your bike being possibly vandalised/stolen.

Its only around £1.40 per day, and it gives you peace of mind.

The garage is only across the road from me and has a main garage door then lots of garages inside the compound but i don't need a whole garage just for a tiny scooter.. maybe if i ask the guy who owns it if i could use the main compound but not actually rent out a garage for a fiver a week do you reakon it's worth a try or abit cheeky?

Surely if you did that anyone with access to the main to get to there rented garage can vandalise/steal your scooter? Rolling Eyes

Just because no one is using it now dosnt mean they wont be soon perhaps?

and outside your house means nothing in todays society, many people including me have had cars broken into around 3 foot from the front door. even had one hot wired and drove off.

There's one garage sign advertised and it's been up for over a year so i can't see anyone wanting it. I do live in a rough area with lots of little vandals about but they won't be able to get at it in there.

Now if its been unused for a year, i would be wondering why, maybe its not so safe as you think.
Plenty of people have bikes taken from their own garages, including really solid one's right next to their houses.
So to make yourbike secure over the road you are looking at ground anchor, very strong chain and more locks on doors. All on a rented garage.
You won't get a very secure garage for £5 a week...... Even £10 a week is cheap.
