Just asking so as to see what can be done to sort this forum out.
Say we buy it and leave it as is but give the moderators or a moderator
total control of running the forum.
Buy a server or servers and what is needed to get it running right.
I don't know anything about servers so input please here from someone
that does would help.

Also my msn that I'm not on much is paddy.blake@hotmail.com.
Post your msn or contact email just incase the whole forum just stops working and is left to die.

Thanks,Paddy.

BCF has lots of periods where it is too busy , hence need for more bandwith , if people contribute bigger faster more bandwidth can be purchased etc...

I think though the last few days have been slowed considerably by many government spies and news paper hacks attempting to find out the location and time of the next fuel protest.

As the guests is usually around 50-60, but the last 2 days have had well over 100 guests.

How do you buy something from someone who can't be contacted? Razz

The forum doesn't need more anything to run better, it needs less. Lots less n00bs and everything would be good, less shitty content and the less shitty content would load faster cos there aren't loads of n00bs posting more shitty content. So you have better pages that load faster.

It only went wrong when BCF started sleeping with Google, now you put something into Google about motorbikes and the first few pages are all about BCF. Which in turns means n00bs, millions and millions of n00bs.

And we should do away with the scots cos they all just hide away in their regional forum and only come out when someone says something about them or Scotland. Using loads of bandwidth but don't actually put anything in the main parts of the forum. I expect they'll be here to jump on this paragraph quite quickly. Razz

We have 14,000 active members, if we all donated £1 then I'm sure it'd all be sorted out verrry quickly right?

Then you have 14,000 people who feel they have a right to complain when the site falls over or is going slow. Razz

not they (yet) but me. im sure youll find there are many Scottish members who contribute in other areas of the forum and not purely in the regional section.

you do have a point though about the oodles of shitty content.
search google for almost any random, bizarre, nefarious content and your likely to find at least one link to BCF in there.

im of the opinion that it doesnt really matter at the end of the day. its only a website and although it can be frustrating to get those pesky error messages just as your about to submit the reply thats undoubtedly going to cement your authority on whatever given subject your babbling about in random banter, its infinitely better to go out and actually ride your bike or tinker in the garage instead.

Its nothing new, its always been busy and slow.

But ive got to be honest, ive spent less and less time on here recently because of all the rubbish. I tend to find that it hardly ever sloads for me, mainly because im here and bored before it gets a chance.

No.

The most annoying thing about a forum is not being able to view it as a guest.

It's not hard to get his home address.

Right, another Scot checking in. I had to open the door of the regional forum a few times and convince myself to step out, but i made it. Thank god.

Why is Korn un-contactable? I'm fairly new here, but if i owned and run a site like this, i'd want to be fairly visible.

I know a lot of people in the interweb industry that could serve this site very well for not a lot of cash.

But, like has been said, it's the internet, if it's busy go and do something else, like live a little. It's only a web site.

I could see the point if there were traders who were losing business due to the busy periods, but ho hum.

If the site is bought, it will probably be bought by Internet Brands, who would be interested in this site BTW, but it would quickly be come an advertising site with a forum buried deep inside somewhere.
