Unfortunately you are not alone, I suffer from this problem a lot, it's probably a lot of factors, fairing, light bike and not being used to it all contributes so don't worry about it.

you feel it lot more on the NSR than you will on a bigger heavier bike.

Fairings are for homosexuals, so take em off! Smile

Nah, it is a light bike covered in plastic, it's normal to get blown around a bit. A racing crouch will help a bit

I get it too.

Just try and give yourself space so that if you do get blown off course you don't crash Shocked

I get thrown about just as much on the Blade as I did on my a TZR, the only difference is that it felt like the wind was almost pushing my wheels out from under me on the TZR. On the heavier bikes it just tries to push the whole thing into the other lane, you'll end up leaning into the wind to counteract it, just dont emphasise it too much coz if u hit a load of trees where theres no wind you'll go into the ditch Razz

I get blown about a lot but there is a large amount of me and the bike for the wind to catch! Around here there are a lot of dry stone walls alongside the roads and when you pass a gap in them when its windy you better hold on.

As for farings the hippys commuting bike (the ZZR) is large and faired so the wind has a real go at him when it gusts from the side.

As for farings being for wimps 15000 commuting miles in ALL weathers I think the hippys new faired bike is going to be a godsend! Maby now he wont be so worn out and grumpy after a 12 hour shift and a couple of hours commuting - we can only hope!

I was out sunday! with 3 other bikers and we kept having to come off the motorway coz the wind throwing us all over the place and the had big bikes like fazer 1000 and XJR1300 and they were affected.
Basicly all bikes are afffected you just have to be more cautious in more open areas especially open roads like dual carriageways and motorways.... Very Happy

I find it more of a pain at slow speed TBH... on the motorway you just have to anticipate it and compensate, but at least you have a fair whack of momentum working in your favour.

In town when you're pootling at slow speed and you suddenly get whacked by a gust, that sucks... esp if you cant reach the ground terribly well. I half dropped my scooter once doing about 3 mph when I just got scooped up by a gust from a totally unexpected direction, it had funnelled through a bunch of buildings and was going opposite to everything else Neutral
