Theres been a lot of mention of going to scotland,im going anyway just thought it might be a good excuse to have a meet up there.

I'll be camping out the whole time (im not into the b&b thing) so if anyone is up for it,could we get a list going....

I was'nt planning on going anywhere in particular, just heading north west, and finding any woods,e.t.c. to camp down in.

So i dont have any routes or dates in mind, ill just go with the majority.

Would like to get a true idea of who's going (if anyone).
I did'nt put this in the area specific forum,as im hoping some of you southerners might join in?
Would be a good way to get some of you new bikers (learners) the confidence to travel, and being in a group will be usefull for any breakdown's/problems or anything on the way.

It wont be a fast ride or anything,so even if your on a 50cc you can still join in.
Any takers? or am i going on my own as usual? Laughing

Not really too fussed...as long as it's dry.
It's just no fun camping out when it's raining.

If im going on my own,i'll go at the start of the summer, when i know i have at least a few dry days, but im not really bothered when....or where.
Just want to go for a ride out with someone instead of on my own all the time Laughing

Well I'm planning on going to Scotland (all round north west, along the top and down through Inverness back to Yorkshire).

Will be doing this at the start of August with 1 maybe 2 others.

Can we tag along?

Dont worry about keeping up Laughing
Im using my klr650 which is not the fastest of bikes Laughing (unless i have sold/swapped it by then, but i'll probably have something equally slow Laughing )

Dont know about anyone else who is coming, but for me it's not about speed.
Im looking forward to seeing the sights and taking lots and lots of piccy's Laughing

Everyone's talking about keeping up, but if you can all read a map it dosen't matter if you get split up. Just make sure you make rendevous points and don't crash and get left behind Mr. Green

Im more intrested in eating some miles than going fast, I can go fast at home Very Happy

But I think it would be better to be in the pack, even if im at the back with one or two other bikes Very Happy

I think the crusing speed on a superdream (250) is about 75mph?

Anywho if ive done my test I will prob be there Thumbs Up

I really like the idea of having no destination or route, just a general direction.

I really like the sound of this.

shmoo is sorting a tour that sounds good but the more I think about it the more I realise its too close to my test (theory 1st of may).

I had worse bites from Scottish midgets, than I did from Texan mosquitos Sick

Also the no destination thing is workable; up North there arent many major roads to be honest Laughing

June sounds good to me...

My plan is to ride from mine, along to carlisle and onto the m6 north (a74) and heading north-west towards the isle of skye.
Then at some point i want to visit loch ness.

After that, just see where the road takes me.(but will be influenced by any woodlands/forest areas for camping)

Anyone is welcome.

hmmm ive always wanted to go scotland. im in plymouth but my bike needs a topend rebuild soon.. 18k miles on original piston+rings Surprised i did check the bore at 13k and it was like new but i didnt have a derestricted pipe back then Mr. Green. Also it gives me a chance to fit some Avon Distanza tyres and gear the bike for more cruising.

also dont forget some of us are on cbt's so we cant use any motorways which would mean A/B roading it the whole way!

im deffo interested Mr. Green

Nah, Scotland doesn't do motorways North and West of Glasgow so don't worry about that!

im deffo interested Mr. Green

Once we know for definate who's coming,we can make a route, but as above motorway's are only an issue until glasgow area.

I also know a lot of people usually pull out of these trips at the last moment,so up until i know for sure i'll be planning the route that suits me best.
Either way,i think the best meeting place would be carlisle, then work it out from there.
Anyone feel free to arrange a rough route Wink
My only plan so far is to get near the isle of skye.No idea from there.
