VFR800 Bad earth or naf indicator relay

When I switch the head lights on the left hand indicator desplay light comes on on the desplay and the indicators don't work.
Switch the lights of and with just the side light on everything is ok.

Is it a bad earth from the headlights or something else.

Some times it's ok or like tonight, it returns to haunt me!
