But it's back now!

The police got a call from someone a few roads down about some lads tampering with a bike, looking like they'd stolen it. They were there within 2 minutes, and knocking at my door a few minutes after that.

They'd taken the ignition barrel out (MIA) to hot-wire, but they could have just unplugged it if they'd have thought to take the headlight cover off (it's an old kickstart model) and bypass it without bother.

I don't think they got it running though. There was no heat on the engine, it was too near to home, and it's been sitting in my garden untouched since August so needs a good seeing to before it'll run properly again anyway.

Anyway, all I could think on the way home was "Thank fuck they stole this bike — it's so light!"

Well, this is a wake-up call to make sure my current bike is garaged every night now.

It would've been nice if they'd fixed it for you then returned it.

Could be the start of a whole new trend of bike fixing fairies who work through the night.

If only, heh.

Oh well. Now on top of getting it working, I've gotta add a new ignition barrel and steering lock to my list. Little sods.

At least they put the sidestand down when they dumped it.

Yeh bike fixing fairies are called gypsies. They nick a bike, fix it and then sell it on ebay Razz

Say it got nicked before thats why DVLA have it down as stolen or they let you find out its been stolen why you go to tax the bugger.
