Out of interest, do you know what bike it was?

Or was this is an american "sheeeze... he must be going at least, well 140miles per hour!" kinda thing?

Not a clue on the bike. I semi remember them saying 300lb and 106BHP but if you look for flat track racing on the 'net then 130-140mph seems pretty average. Guess its all calculated on lap times. I did notice a SV1000 flat tracker though.

Ah, flat tracing - that explains it. One of the few things where we tend to do it in 'inside' in a smaller environment and the americans do it on a slightly bigger scale.

Also one of the few 'good' bikes Harley makes - the XR750. Run on nitro-methanol often. The more serious hill climb bikes based on the same engine are often over 150hp I believe.

One of the bikes was 17??cc and 261bhp, bit of an odd figure but there you go. For some reason the bikes struck me as very '80s muscle bikes. Still an interesting program through. Watching one guy grab hold of another bikes handlebars to move him out the way at 100+ sort of gave an idea of how committed to winning they were.
