As my NSR's gearbox isn't fixed yet (I'm in the process) I decided to get myself a new bike, I found this ZZR250 nearby and I bought it last night for £600.

It's only done 20,000 miles, considering its age that's not bad. The guy I bought it from bought it in bits and re-built it completely, and I have to say he's done a good job it feels great. Only couple of issues are the clutch bites way to far out, the fork seals need re-doing and it needs a new front mud guard but apart from that it's brilliant.

I love the 14krpm red line, I haven't been pushing it hard but there is plenty to play around with Very Happy.

After owning a ZXR250, all i can say is, expect parts to be a bitch! Having said that, enjoy the 17k-ish redline (not sure if they have the same lump as the ZXR250, in which case the redline should start at 18.5k and bury itself to 22k). Still, 600 is cheap for any sort of bike and you'll have fun screaming the hell out of it.

ZZR250 uses a parallel twin engine. Used in the GPZ250, GPX250 and basically the same engine in the new 250 road bike.

All the best

Its a lot of fun and now I've got it I've managed to secure a job interview later today Very Happy.

The red line starts at 14k and then goes on a bit further, I've not gotten that far with it yet as I don't want to break it Laughing.

It seriously needs the fork seals to be replaced, I've ordered some so just gotta wait now.
