Have recently come across these 'spy' shots for the 2009 R1. There are two different pics so not sure which is more likely to be put in production though i know which one i would rather buy.

the upper one was a mock up by PB so isn't even spy shots, unsure about the lower 2, but since yamaha tend to do a major revision every 3-4 years don't expect a new one until 2010.

They wont make the upper one even if it does like the tits single sided swing arm + exhaust will be too heavy for a top of the range Sports bike. The front is too RSV and the rear to MV.

Top one looks some what like the new model R6.

Either way. I want one.

Also looks like it has 4 exhausts like the F4 setup?

Bottom ones look a lot like the 2008 R1 IMO.

The top one was by PB (as mentioned) of the R7 as a mock up of how it might look if they had continued to develop it, so not even the right bike!

Bottom one seems fairly likely. Basically this years R1 with this years R6 exhaust.

The top one looks the sex. But I would almost imagine it's a heavily photoshopped F4...
The swingarm, exhaust and mirrors are almost identical, and the brembo brakes as well. Since when do R1s have brembo?
Bottom looks nice as well though, but for me the fav is still 2005

Was having a chat with my local yam dealer, chap there said that the new R1 is going to be basically a bigger version of the R6, more sharp and angular with the side mounted exhaust.

top one as said is from performance bikes and is a 1098s wheels, forks, brakes, mirrors, mv augusta exhausts and misc r6 bits with a chopped up front
hopefully they dont go and wreck it!
