Replaced the ZX6R...With an R6....

As some people may have seen, I managed to totally wreck my last bike, so, I plan to not repeat my actions and have bought myself another new toy.

Has only had 2 previous owners, and only done about 500 miles in the past 5 years. Last owner spent £700 in March on a big service, and is running and feeling (mostly) fine.

I think the carbs are slightly unbalanced so will be sorting that out this weekend.

Is very tidy for a bike thats done 17k miles, previous owner has looked after it well.

First call is to get a non standard exhaust!

Thinking either a Beowulf Warrior or a Blue Flame Oval (Dual exit)

Will put some more/better pics up when it's had a really good clean and the weather is better!

Also, all the dark stickers have a carbon effect to them, which is quite cool (imo)

mm, everyone says the 1999/2000 R6/R1's looked the best, and in this coulor, yes i do agree

Love those colours! Never seen them.

One suggestion on a can, is the blue flame dual port, but the triangular one. A mate has one on the same model R6 and it suits the bike beautifully, whereas I think the Oval looks weird.

Not an ideal pic, but you get the idea.

The guy who's ninja that is paid £200 for it all, including link pipe, only problem is it's 115db! If I could get him to fit a baffle, I willo probably go for one!


Also, have just balanced the carbs, and it is running a HUGE amount better, carb 1 and 2 were along way out!

It is a UK model.

Apparrently when they came out in 1999, no-one bought them, they all went for the red one. Even some dealers say there is no such thing.

It's 100% UK model, and 100% original colour!

Looks so much better...and sounds pretty good too

Got a 7 x 5 numberplate made up at goodwood so that will be going on this week aswell. When I get paid I will be putting on some R&G's and a double bubble.

Just a question for those who might know....if I was to want to swap my undertray for a 2001+ one, so I could have the newer style LED lights....is it a straight swap?

You have to either buy the later model battery tray or cut yours down by quite a lot. If you buy the lights you should get the relay/resistor with them but you may not and have to get one separate. Although that may only be for the ones with intergrated indicators.
