There was something in PB a few months ago where you could buy a big block of rags for about £20. Could have sworn it was from JCB(the digger people).

I just don't wash my bikes very often.

Problem solved.

I use different cloths (microfibres, dusters, rags), for different jobs/areas of the bike.

When they're brand-new clean I'd use them for bodywork/screens, once they've picked up some dirt I'd demote them to frame/wheel cleaning, then to brakes/engine block/etc and so on.

I don't tend to run through rags that quickly, and microfibres can be washed (but I'll only re use them on areas other than paintwork).

Charity shops "rag" a lot of clothes given them (selling to rag companies un-saleable items for about £1.50 per bin bag sort of size) . It may be worth popping in and asking you local charity shop for a bag of rags. I get a bag or two of T shirts every year.

I get them from work - we buy in boxloads of ex-NHS bedsheets and pillowcases.
What i do find a bit worrying is the indeterminate brown & red stains on some of them - either blood or shite, or a mixture of the 2.

Do you have a cleaner at work? Find her cupboard. Stuff your pockets.

Try your local freecycle group or see what charity shops are chucking out?

I just do as stinkwheel does, though, generally.

We do have bins of rags at work that get delivered but i can't take any home, it's that kind of annoying place where someone would say something and my work wear doesn't have pockets and i can't get changed untill i leave the production area.
I didn't actually know charity shops sold rags so i'll have a look at the weekend and i might find something nice to wear to, who knows Cool
