Work out if it's trials or trails - very different stuff Smile.

Unfortunately people's routes tend to be quite closely guarded.

That's the problem, the legal places are still usually kept quite closely guarded (and the same people then wonder why there's all these people riding illegally) - partly because if everyone started using them, a lot would quickly become pretty bad after wet weather, etc.

The usual answer is 'join the local TRF'.

Free but fiddly: https://whereilive.hants.gov.uk/rightsofway/webform1.aspx

The cheap and more useful option is to pick up an OS landranger map or two. Look for the purple lanes marked -+-+-+.

The reason I wont post routes is a bit complicated ( the basics of it are) >, the lanes that are left are getting very scarce, some getting knackered, this will then make the council put a TRO on on them.( byways are classed as roads BUT are open to ALL users. Ramblers use them, they make a official compliant to the said council because they might take a trip and get injured > the surface is a bit bumpy ( the council MUST maintain them>>> they have not got the funds, so the get restricted...>>> to reduce the so- called damage we cause, etc etc. ( just like you can sue the council if you fall of your road bike due to a poorly maintained road)

Just get a o/s map look for +-+-+-+-+-+-+ (in red) Salisbury Plain area . (Hampshire/Dorset/ Witshire border )BUT this IS NOT DEFINATIVE) , shit! this gets complicated !, basically you need to go down to your town hall and look at the latest maps.

Next problem is that the only decent lanes left cross three county borders, yep three town halls to visit to linK them all up Twisted Evil

So after all that you might decide to just ride as you please and take the wrisk !!??? DONT. > riding on a bridleway// restricted byway is a criminal offence, the "antis" will phone the plod and they WILL try for a section 39 (bye bye bike).

You would be better off looking for a local to guide you around, its far easier ! ( just keep the locations a bit hush and NEVER post them on any forum) hope you can see why Rolling Eyes
