hi i have a 2000 honda xr100 bike and i want to ask some thing. when i am shifting up to a higher gear do i have to close the trhottle every time ? becouse i read some where you have to close trottle every time. what should i do peaples?

i think wot your gettin at is "clutchless shifts" basically a racey technique were you keep pressure on the gear selector with your foot, close the throttle a tiny tiny bit and shift up quickly without using the clutch ( all done as quick as pos obviously! ) and straight on the power..... a poor mans quick shifter if you like...
but if your on about normal riding, ie using the clutch then yes u need to close the throttle or the revs will sore and you will bunny hop wen u drop the clutch ida thought!!?!

Yes you should close the throttle as otherwise it's going to bounce off the limiter as soon as you pull the clutch un and lurch when you let iy out.

It should be intuitive as soon as you start to squeeze the clutch really... Confused
