plenty of parts available for reasonably cheap for the sv,
nothing available second hand available for the bking.

i think id be to afraid to crash the bking to really give it the punishment it deserves.

i would keep the sv, and spend the money that you would have spent on the king, on cheap women Very Happy

One of the blokes and a Suzi dealership I go to said it went to a test day where they went round a track on the majority of suzuki's product line. He said no one could believe how nimble the Bking was and how great it was round the track.

It is meant to be a very good bike, even if it is ugly as sin Laughing

Keep the SV man! Get rid? what are you? One of these crazy people?

Laughing

I still need to sort the suspension settings on my SVthou, did you mess with yours? I'm thinking of copying the FastBikes settings and see how that feels.

If you bought a B-king, you would have to spend shed loads of money just to make it look presentable.

I doubt that the new Vmax will be seriously sporty / sport-touring. If it was, it would compete with the FZ1 and the FJR. Yamaha are very conscious of that sort of thing. They intentionally downgrade things like suspension and performance on some models to avoid in house competition.

thanx for the input guys
my sv is fully loaded and fully messed with
everything power has been done and the suspension has had a few things changed and setup on the last track day i took it to Smile"i didnt say that to loud did i"

the bking is a monster "yeah all be it people say its a unusual in design"
i test rode the bking and the busa as i wasnt sure what i wanted
the bking in any gear makes your heart jump when you nail the throttle and the only gear it wouldnt wheelie in was 6
not worried about messing with it i think that suzuki have done a great job and the 186 bhp at the rear is the cherry on the cake

anyways i will keep you informed with pics etc when i collect it

I've seen it in person and tried it for size at the dealers but did not test ride it. Normally, I am not too fussed about appearances (none of the bikes I've ever bought can be called pretty by any measure, and I don't spend much money on cosmetic mods), but for me the B-king is something else altogether. I have no arguments against the idea of a naked Busa; that is a brilliant idea but did they have to make it look that ugly? It certainly is affecting sales.

If I bought a B-king, I would try to get rid of the integrated indicators on the tank, change the headlight assembly and fit a pair of after market exhausts before even considering performance related modifications.

If you don't mind the looks it would be a brilliant bike to buy from what I hear of it.

Thats pretty much my biggest gripe, cruising along its about as offensive and rude as a box of kittens, given its visual presence it just doesn't seem right to be that quiet, and of course, by fitting an aftermarket exhaust to sort the noise you're removing the most iconic thing about it.

I'd still say hold off and wait to see how the new Vmax shapes up alongside it. Its going to be interesting to see how the two shape up against each other.

I think the new V-max is not going to be a naked sports bike by any measure. It will be better than the old one for sure (Yamaha is very good at acting on customer feedback), but it will still remain a modern cruiser albeit one that handles well. Yamaha learnt their lesson with the original Fazer 1000, which was such a good all rounder, that it became a more popular sports tourer than the FJR instead of being the naked sports bike in the line up. When they updated it to the FZ1, they made the handling much more sporty, reduced the fuel capacity and gave it a much harder suspension. If the new V-max is sporty, it will compete with the naked FZ1 for sales. I can't see Yamaha allowing this to happen.
