I was riding along the bypass the other day with my mate on his 400 bandit doing the normal 75-80mph and his bike seemed fine but as we came to exit the bypass and his revs dropped the bike seemed to die. Upon further inspection we found that one of the downpipes were cold leading us to believe that there were firing problems in one of the cylinders. we took the bike apart checking the sparks, the ht leads and caps and even the carbs but found no problems. The bike runs but is virtually impossible to keep running in the low revs, the problem 'seems' to disappear once you go above 6000rpm so we have no idea what the problem could be. Any ideas and solutions would be very welcome thanks

Most likely to be carbs. Bandit 4 carbs are a PITA. I would strip them and get the bits in an ultrasonic cleaner or similar.
