yesterday while putting my gear in after filling up 2 chavs walked up to me and said"alrite mate whats that a 600"to which i replied "err no its a 125"and chuckled a bit, then he said"its nice but not as nice as mine" so i said why what you got and this is the funny bit. he said"ive got a triumph daytona on the way and im getting it restricted cos its got a powerband in every gear and its gonna be too fast with em in" then i put my helmet on and rode off laughing all the way home.

They've said stuff like that to me before, "im getting" is more than likely bull and infact "i want" or "last nights dream I had a..." though!

just makes me chuckle how they can put your bike down and compare it to something they dont even have...

as for the powerband... Laughing

He should ask whoever restricts it for him if he can keep the powerbands...then he could sell them on eBay...

Riding through town one day and i had my Ducati jacket on (was just nipping to a mates so wasn't arsed about brand co-ordination Razz)

Waiting at some traffic lights and a bunch of chavs walked across the road and i heard one say "look at that wanker on the Ducati" Laughing why i'm a wanker don't know. Confused But ha, you've got to be a serious prick to mistake 50cc motard for a Ducati.

it would seem there is a certain part in there lives where they are pulled to one side and recruited in some sort of nob college where they are taught all about motorbikes and powerbands by a deaf and blind irishman then there all hypnotised into thinking they know everything and can ride like a gp superstar Rolling Eyes

The funny thing is, if you do happen to know even a little bit about bikes etc you can ask them leading questions & get them to make a complete & utter twat of themselves to the point where their mates will start ripping the piss out of them....
Yanno, 4 into 1 exhausts for 3 cylinder engines, different colour power bands depending on the output & how tight they are (you did know they change colour the more you tighten them, right?)
High lift cams for 2 squeeks, porting the cylinder on 4 strokes. The list is endless, you just have to keep a straight face.. Wink

The whole thing reminds me of when I used to do car audio. So many experts, so little expertise. I'm guessing that high performance engine coolant on those 125s, an unlocked throttle with a 360 degree twist, and pizza cutter tires for digging into the road is all you need to get it to 100mph for those days you just gotta get your knee down in the 35mph turn? Or am I not "chav" enough to make good chav jokes?

My college group consisted of mostly chavs but one in particular got his ass handed to him. He asked me a few times if he could have a go on the Cat to which I refused for obvious reasons. The last piece of bullshit he muttered was about apparently stealing a GSX-R600 and riding it on the back wheel at 110mph undertaking cars along a dual carriageway. Got him pillion on the Cat and took him to 100mph and he couldn't speak afterwards. Months later he said I ride like a girl so I said jump on and we'll see if you can say that again afterwards. He declined the offer and I've not seen him since Razz

Get em up to about 140 or so & the tunnel vision makes it look as though cars doing 60-70mph are actually reversing towards you. Wink

When i was doing my test, there was this chav.
he said his uncle is buying him any bike when he passes (Rich )
We kept badgering as to what hes getting, and then on the final day of lessons he said gettin a 50 crosser....
WHY?!
Because it will do about 145 and has powerbands in every gear!
Which im going to put in bigger ones out of a bigger bike.

I really didnt know what to say

I parked at my nan's the otherday, as I always do. A couple of older chavs (30's/40's) left the house opposite and said "Nice bike" which I replied thanks (I'll be polite to anyone if they are nice to me) then he asked what engine size it was. Clearly it says R6 on the side but I politely replied "600". He then told me his next door neighbour has one in blue.

Why did he bother asking me?

I was in Mounts motorcycles before and this 16-18 year old kid came in (I couldn't tell how old exactly) with his mother. He went up to an R1 and said this one's the fastest. The manager laughed and pointed at a Gixxer thou and said that the GSXR was the faster one. The kid went up to the Gixxer and looked at the "1000" sticker on it and said "This one has 1000bhp". The manager and the mechanic both watching him now. The mechanic replies "no it has xxxbhp".

I sharply left and wished them a good luck.
