A mate of mine is selling her 1988/89 CG.

She says it starts up and "Sounds Lush!" but it won't go into gear.

Now it's been stood a canny while but im wondering what could possibly be wrong. it could be as simple as the clutch is adjusted way too tight so the clutch is always in, or it could be a bit more complicated.

Having never had an entire gearbox or engine out of a bike im not sure but what i'd like to know is if the bikes in good nick, reckon it would be worth £150?

My plans to sell it on after doing it up, hoepfully to make a small profit but im unsure it'd be worth it.

Unless you know what's wrong it, it should have scrap value. It never ceases to amaze me how much money people expect for stuff that is fundamentally broken.

You can get more than that in parts for a decent cg, and to be honest even if its broken beyond repair, you can get a new engine in for £100 and get it sorted. a tax and tested CG is easily worth 300-500 pounds if not more, depending on condition.

Cheers
John
