Just bought a NS125r that's in a bad way...

hello everyone, just yesterday bought myself a NS125R thats in a bit of a state, rode her home (10 miles) and she was spluttering and had 'dead spots' through the rev range, from what i've read the dead spots are due to restrictions in the engine but i'm not totally sure.

so i got up today and decided to take it down to my local bike garage to get the lads to have a quick look at her and to try and figure out what will need doing to pass an mot, at a glance they decided its probably just some electrical problems and a rear shock that needs sorting, so i started her up and rode away...
she later decided to stop running and conked out on me a mile down the road, so had to push her back to the garage and this is where she shall now sit until mid-week when i should find out exactly whats needed.

basically, any experience, knowledge and suggestions would be a great help, and good places to find spares as havn't seen a whole lot.

Ask Alains on here, he's pretty much the expert on the NS and NSR.

But first of all I would be checking for signs of corrosion/damage around the swingarm pivots, rear suspension mounts and headstock.

There's no point spending money on a bike with a fucked frame.

i am not an expert on NS125 but what i know is that 2 strokes engine need to be neat . so i suggest give a good clean at :
- air filter
- tank (tap & eventually fuel filter)
- carb
then change sparplug

that looks very much like my old tco1,
which i sold for £300 or so, with tax & mot & ran great!
reg no. isnt k*** NHS, is it?
if it is, the engine is solid, or at least was till next owner decided to strip top end for no apperent reason!

like i said, its a state, one of the numb-nut previous owners decided it'd be a good idea to spray the frame blue... god only knows why, but in doing so they've sprayed all the bolts solid on aswell!!

at least its gonna give me something to do for the next month or two tho ay.

Spluttering - check fuel pipes/tank/carbs.
EDIT - Alains covered it

Also, fairings look mint but please, change them back indicators.
I had my screen held with number plate screws(black and white ones) cos they were easiest to tighten up without damaging anything

all in good time, the main thing is getting it running properly first,
the fairings not in too bad condition only really 2 or 3 propper cracks/splits and they've been bodge-job repaired as pictured (with what looks like glue) !!

hoping to find a single seat conversion aswell but no luck as yet, considering a different swing arm to allow for a wider rear wheel + tire with a disc... suggestions?

Seat converter will be an issue, pretty fookin rare tbh. As are the fairing infills and clock surround/ignition plastics so just keep a close eye on Ebay.
