Equity Red Star Protect No Claims?

Hi i got my renewal through from my insurance which was a bit of a shock with it only being £5 less than the year before with no claims. They are stating that equity will protect my 2 years no claims but ive called about and every other insurer says that it can only be 4 years then you can protect? My question is there much point in paying £70 to protect your no claims and has anyone heard of being able to protect no claims of only 2 years?
