 |
|
Some of you may have seen previous posts by me whinging about how toss the front brakes are on my ZX7R, so today I decided to something about it!
Just won some radial 4 pot calipers taken from a GSXR 1000 K7 on eBay. £107 for the pair with pads, and brand new, bargain.
Anyone know of any engineering companies that will make up some mounting brackets specifically for a 7R? Someone in the Staffs/Cheshire/Shrops/Derbys area would be a bonus.

It will be cheaper to buy the radial forks I would have thought.
Also I cant see the radial's being "that" much better. ____________________ If you dont like the way that I ride.......Stop trying to keep up!!! |

Haha, cheers for the lightening fast reply!
I was afraid someone might say that! I think swapping the forks for some from a different model is beyond my spannering capabilities. Surely someone out there should be able to just make the mounts for cheaper than that ?
Fingers crossed ____________________ Current: ZZR1400

I just find they don't bite very well, and have had a few brown pant moments when braking from a ton+. I think the master cylinder on this bike is on it's way out too, and the calipers could do with an overhaul. But I think even after shelling out on having this done, it's be better to fit a different system. Everyone I've mentioned this situation to has said the 6 pots are toss and suggested trying some 4 pots off something else.
Anything's gotta be better than the calipers I have at the moment! My other 7R has the gold 6 pot Tockicos, which Stu at Bikedevils tells me are from Busa/12R, and are actually better than the black ones. The reason I bought radials is as they look trick.
I could of bought some old manky 4 pot Nissins of a slabby (They are much better than the brakes on my 7R), but they just wouldn't look as cool! ____________________ Current: ZZR1400
