For years we used Yamalube 2R in my sons YZ85 transmission which is what the owners manual recommends. Got a 2007 YZ125 for this season and started out with Yamalube 4 as transmission oil as stated in the manual. After the 3rd race we switched to MAXIMA MTL 80 weight. Got the maxima as part of a sponsorship package from a local shop. 8 laps after the maxima was put in, the clutch burned up. shop rebuilt clutch and 9 more laps in, the new clutch burned up. Is the difference in viscosities causing the problems, or should I look for something else. Shop will redo the clutch for free, but should I go back to the Yamalube 4 which 125 manual recommends? Seems there is a big difference in the 30w vs. the 80w, maybe too much?.......Thanks......Pat..... ____________________ RPM GRAPHICS
