I've finally started slowing down my wheelies, turned my idle up to 3k tonight and got practicing, i did a couple where i hardly used the throttle, just using the back brake, so im guessing thats balance point (tell me if im wrong sparks Laughing )

only got a couple of pics, quality aint ace as they where just for my use really to see how high the front wheelie is, but hey ho. Thumbs Up

Looking good and sounds about right. definitely balance point by the looks of it.
Ive dropped a tooth on the front of my NC29 now, So it power wheelies in first! Also comes up WAAAY easy now, Like lower down in the rev range too, So as soon as I get a new chain on it, I'll be out learning how to go sloowww. Thumbs Up

Shit hot man, i need a new clutch and could do with a slightly bigger sprocket, not talkin pizza dish, i just need a few teeth on the back i think. Slow stuff is far more fun imo, dont get me wrong fast wheelies are mega but i'd rather try slow stuff anyday. Thumbs Up

good work.looking awesome Thumbs Up

is it just a case of practise practise practise?

I'd like to be able to do /even small/ wheelies on my bandit but dont know wher to start, and I only try the occasional one on my way to/from work and they result in epic fail. it is 33bhp but i should still be able to clutch it up shouldnt i?

Matt

Sit right back, in 1st gear (doing about 15mph) -- rev and slip the clutch very fast, whilst pulling on the bars...

Or, simply pull away from the lights as fast as possible with lots of clutch slip and then dump the clutch just as you're about to release it anyway and it'll pop up (if you're doing it correctly) -- this is how I learnt.

Thing is, the 400's clutches glaze up and fuck up very quickly.
If your willing to spend about £15. Then get yourself a 14 tooth front sprocket. It will make sooo much difference.
I mean how often do you hoon around at 130 anyway? All its going to do is drop your top speed by about 5 or 10mph, But the acceleration will be somewhat like a CBR600.

My nc29 comes up on power in first now with my girlfriend on the back. Thumbs Up

sounds like a good idea. -1 on the front and +1 on the rear. now to check my wallet.

going up one on the rear would help, but really isnt necessary.
I might go make a video today on the NC29, Just to show how effortlessly it comes up in first with a wiff of clutch.

Oh and jake, that road your on looks awesome! Laker Road is the only local wheelie spot we have got here now and its a bit bumpy, Plus its next door to an air field so theres alot of side winds at the moment. Sad

3 clutches in 9 months. Laughing Laughing

Ive just put my second in after a year of riding. But I dont wheelie so much. I went through a stage of popping it up on every single opportunity and I think thats what well and truely killed it off.

And rc211v went onto say hes gonna change sprockets.

On a side note, Ive been looking around for a 40t rear sprocket for my NC29 (stock is 39t) and I cant find one. Confused

Wheelies are looking excellent mate, I hope to be that good one day. Shame about the accident though, look forward to seeing wheelies on the shiny new bike you get with your insurance payout though Wink
