Now i can officially call myself a biker Mr. Green

Before you get bored with the essay below i'd just like to say thanks to everybody whos given me advise on bits and bobs and i look forward to meeting a few of you on ride outs in the near future Thumbs Up Karma Very Happy

The essay begins... (sorry i kind of rambled on a bit in my excitement Laughing)

The bike passed its MOT thursday afternoon with a little forecourt bodging to solve a sticking rear brake light, after that began the 2 stroke madness Very Happy

I was nervous to say the least, the last time i was alone on the road was over a year and a half ago, i was involved in an accident which saw my bike getting written off, no use living life in fear though so off i went on a ride.

I covered almost 200 miles in about 10 hours Laughing its safe to say that by the end i was well over my fear of the bike and of riding in general, the whole "riding without a particular destination" mentality rules!

Alas there has to be a downside to every story and i have a few...

For a start i there were several SMIDSY moments from dozy car drivers and pedestrians, luckily none ended in a crash of any sort.
I was refused petrol by two separate petrol stations because i had my lid on ( Middle Finger gallows corner tesco and BP on the A127 Middle Finger ), i took the advise of a few fellow BCFers and rode on to the next station.
I discovered my charging system is faulty so i have no lights etc when the bike isnt running, and finaly my clutch slips under hard acceloration.

Still despite the bad points i found myself back on the bike today, the journey time to work has been quartered and its about a million times more fun Thumbs Up

Ive had a few brown trouser moments that have stopped me getting over confident, nothing major just entering corners a little fast for what little skill i have but they've definetly reminded me that its not all fun and games and it can all go wrong pretty easily Shocked

All in all a successfull two days me thinks Thumbs Up

p.s. TDR250's are made of WIN Thumbs Up

yup, its a comment gripe shared between us TDR250ers, small castrol oil bottles solve the problem pretty well since they have an extendable nozzle kind of bit, thing is i was in a shell garage and they stocked nothing but there own brand so i basicly had no choice but to spill some oil...

ah well ill get over it! Laughing

C_Dug, I just get over the problem by tipping the oil into an empty water bottle with a squirty nozzle and use this to squirt into the oil tank. That way there is no spillage.
