Hi Guys,

Does anyone here know whether it is possible to restrict a Ninja 900. I know its committing the cardinal biker sin but, Mr House bill and Mrs Finances have put my budget in disarray. I now have a bike sitting there which is my only form of transport. I am only considering this extreme option as a last result. As this would at least allow me to get around and sort my finances all before the law on the DAS Test changes.

If anyone knows how and where this can be done and most importantly if there are any legal implications, that would really help.

All the best and thanks

So you don't have a full motorcycle license? Then you can't ride a 900...

which is still illegal because the bike cnanot be bigger than a 125.

No I don't have a full license, when I got it I had the funds to also pay for my DAS, unfortunately as with life your sometimes played a wrong hand which throws everything to pot which is what happened. I only have my CBT at the moment. This is why I was thinking if I could restrict it to 33 I may be able to ride it as an interim measure.

You need to pass your A2 test before riding a 33bhp bike. On a CBT you can have no more than a 125cc up to 14.6bhp.

No. Even to ride a 33bhp bike you need to pass a full test. If you are under 21 the only full test you can take is the restricted one.

If you're over 21 you can do a direct access test but I would reccomend against having a 900 as a first bike.

sell the 900, pay for DAS and bus a GS5, ER5 or CB5, something...tame *this word disguises the fact these bikes are very much slow and unsporty.*...

Thanks for the wise words of advice guys, but I'll be ready to rock soon as I've just negotiated a huge contract and the cash is on its way to my a/c plus a free trip to Japan... looks like the ninja's staying with me (not that I would have sold it away Mr. Green
