Evening All

Going on brittany ferries from Portsmouth to Caen. Never taken the bike on a ferry before so just a couple of quick questions

Are Tie downs for the bike supplied by the ferry company or should i bring my own ?

Do you que up with all the cars or is the separate que for bikes ? (and yes i know i cant spell que Razz )

Cheers
Joey

I have only been on a ferry once with the bike and they supplied the tie downs.

You queue up with everyone else and then they should put you into a lane with the other bikes as you normally all go on together.

Hope this helps.

Paul

We did Poole-Cherbourg-Portsmouth with Brittany at Easter so we did the big slow boat going out and the small fast one coming back.

They provide tiedowns and a pad for the seat, no worries there. They will tie your bike down fr you but you will need to release it yourself when you go to get off.

You can go straight to the front of the queue as they put the bikes on first anyway. Thumbs Up

Little tip, when you go through the checkpoint you will be given a kind of boarding pass thingy. This is a rectangle of thin card with a hole in (for putting round a rear-view mrror in a car!) You need to be displaying this as you go through and on to the boat so if you don't have a tank bag with a clear top take a clothes peg or a blob of blutak so you can fasten it onto the front of your bike somewhere.
