I was coming up a slip road to join the dual carriage way, was giving the bike plenty of throttle but not full throttle and as soon as I joinned the dual carriage way. I hit about 60mph 6000 rpm the bike started stuttering and being hesitant to go. I ended up pulling into a parking lane where the bike didnt sound right, it sounded dull and bogged down if that makes any sence.

I've had this problem for afew weeks now normally get to about 30mph and 55-70mph it starts playing up with the stuttering and normally backing off the throttle or giving it abit more sorts it out for awhile then starts again. I've stripped the carbs down and cleaned them quite afew times, I've replace the diaphragm's and rejeted the main/pilot to 125/40 from 112.5/37 air mixture screws are both set to 3 turns checked the floats and they seem to be fine. Spark plus look normal, checked the valve clearance and they needed doing badly and I now have the min clearance of 0.3 on each valve at cold. but still have a tapping noise also tryed running the bike on prime but still have the same stutter problem.

So any ideas would be great as I've ran out of what can be causing it.

im running 120 mains which appear to be standard as the bike was standard when i got it.

It hesistates a bit but i think it needs the carbs balancing, could very well be the case with your bike, is the choke not stuck on, i noticed my choke wanted to stick easily until i cleaned it.

Im tempted to say it's too rich and so theres too much fuel/not enough air, go back down your jetting or put a less restrictive filter in.

Perhaps just clean the filter in at the moment.

Thanks you for the idea's mate Thumbs Up

the bike has the same problem if I return to the smaller jets. The choke working fine. But I'll get a hold of some vacuum gauges and check out the carbs, so if you have anymore ideas or anyone else does then they all help Thumbs Up

Here's a link to a jetting table, you seem to have your jetting ok so might just need balancing.
