Hi,

The bike is a 1994 Yamaha FZR600r, basically the bike is due a new chain and sprockets. I was reading through the following link and they suggested that you ought to do a 520 conversion (from the standard 530).

https://www.fzrarchives.com/fzr600/faqs/faqs.html#Q22

Not entirely sure what this means? Is it worth it? Where can I buy the 520 from? With the 520 will I have to run different sized sprockets from standard?

Thanks for your time,
Jack

Hi

520 chain is slightly narrower. This makes in lighter, so in theory you get a tiny bit more power. Also means they wear quicker.

If you look at the DID chain specs you can see the difference. With some of their chain ranges the difference is marginal, with others it is quite major.

All the best

Keith
