well, i was suffering from the broken limb blues today, so thought fuck it, im going for a ride...

now, my choices were... the SRAD with a sump full of fuel, no brake lever or pedal, a lifan with a snapped frame, or a freshly taxed and MOT'd RXS100... oh yeah, and a reliant rialto.

i chose the 100 Sad

god forbid if i stalled... kickstart with a cast on my right foot? yeah right.

ended up looking like a div for 10 mins on the drive sat on my arse using the kickstart with my hand.

now i started the ride in a bit of a downer, like ''awerrr this things shite and slow''.

so i tested it on the torpoint twisties, with my crutches strapped to my backpack in case.

fucking loved it Very Happy

started at the tattoo parlour thing, as the missus just got a thing on her back. not too sure what it is, but i dont care too much.

was there for 3 fucking hours...

now, the whole time i was warming the bike up, 2 cars passed as i got on, but nothing after that. thats 2-3 minutes of warming up,
and as i pulled out there were about 3 cars stuck behind me Sad

then...

hammer down, all the way along, with an average speed of around 55mph.... and seeing 75 on the clocks at one point Very Happy

was so much fun! none of this slowing down for corners bollocks like on the GSXR, so you can concentrate on the better things.

i even caught up with some traffic!
felt like i was going so slowly, wasnt until i looked behind me and saw no cars that i realised i must have lost a few people

spent the whole trip feeling as if there were like 10 cars behind.

so yeah... epic kodak moment. not bad for 0RPM. even had to slow down for the cars in front! Shocked

https://img81.imageshack.us/img81/4166/11072008176gh3.jpg

followed by a WTF?? as i looked behind and saw no cars! combined with amazement at catching up with cars on a 100cc 2 stroke that runs a bit doggedly.

https://img262.imageshack.us/img262/6374/11072008178hw5.jpg

all this acheived with a 15 stone broken limbed knobber on the back. imagine what it can do with a skinny runt kid!

thats the next experiment.

You chose the right bike to go on a ride with Wink Miles better than the SRAD.

75mph on the clocks, lucky bastard. Mine still only nudges 60mph in 4th gear and still won't rev past 8,000 Crying or Very sad

Need to start experimenting with the jetting.

It's hard starting it with your hand, I've tried and failed Mr. Green

P.S. I'm a skinny runt kid Very Happy

You should find a fat kid, lock him in your shed, beat him and feed him shoelaces until he's a skinny runt.

Then you've got your experiment. Mr. Green

I think you're completely mad, another off, any off and the surgeon will be taking your foot off. I mean you no Ill but I just can't condone you riding in a cast with your middle toe held together with a paper clip. It's so easy to make a silly mistake or become the victim of someone else's stupidity. Tut Tut

good on you Matt, nice to know I am not the only idiot that rides with broken bones and crutches tied on the bike.

beleive me, this is probably the most careful i have ever ridden today! i mean, it was like my test all over again at first!

i rode pretty agressively as its a small bike, leaving no room for anyone to attempt an overtake in an unsafe place etc.

i knew the risks and took them.

fuck me it was worth it. try not riding your bike for 3 weeks.

however, once the twisties started, i was back to my usual self Very Happy

Indeed - have the vfr off the road to do the collector box at the moment, and got a puncture on the GS, getting buses was just painful!

Sounds like you had a laugh. Gotta admit being back on the GS isn't so bad really! Small bikes can be fun too!

I did, you read my thread from last year where I broke my foot, I was in cast for 4 weeks and had physio for a further two. But I did manage to fit in a spin on my 650cc round the village after 5 weeks just to keep my hand in as it were. However, my foot was well enough to bare load, and I had my boots on, though I also took it easy. As I say I'd just hate you to end up worse off, that's all.

100cc 2-strokes rule. Thumbs Up

I was out on my H100 on Friday. Sat at a steady 60mph most of the way. I was only overtaken twice in 50 miles on A-roads. I overtook four cars. Cool

sounds like there is a fine line between enthusiast and lunatic Laughing

that was merely a comment and not a judgement or criticism. im hardly one to talk. i had a knee op 6 years ago. i got the transport back to barracks and chucked my crutches in the car so i could drive to my 'unknown' home. i didnt drive for a while after that but i wasnt letting a little thing like the accelerator pedal keep me stuck in a 4 man barrack room for 2 weeks Embarassed Laughing

the gravel is still there unfortunatly Sad
i had the front end slide a bit on the first bit of gravel, shat me up a bit.

however, if you stick to the lines a car wheel would take, the road seems ok there. but its like riding on a 2 foot wide road Sad

and if you want to be swapping an RS125 for an RXS100, im all ears Wink

And i thaught you meant taking someone on the back and do something stupid type of experiment lol not swapping bikes Smile

You should give me a pm some time, i need someone to go out on a ride with it gets really boring after a while on my own because i dont know any good roads to go down or any decent routes with half decent roads.

Hope to see you out and about some time though Thumbs Up

to me, fairings are just glorified crash bungs. i dont care how they look. as long as it rides right, im happy with it (and it will once i have brakes).

as said above, i knew the risks and took them. so shh with the lecture crap.

i can probably put money on you not wearing boots when you ride.

Hi

Came to the conclusion that performance is not a requirement for fun.

One day I will get round to buying another H100.

All the best
