Hello there, I thought I would start a topic to document the happenings of my recently purchased '89 CG125. I passed my A2 in May but decided I would go for a small bike to begin my journey in motorcycling. I am interested in working on and maintaining the bike myself and know that a CG is a very simple bike. Hopefully with my time with this bike I will build my mechanical knowledge of Motorbikes and improve my riding skills. Expect a few questions in the workshop section to begin with but hopefully I will be able to answer other peoples questions in the future!

Anyway here's some pictures, ignore the poor camera work, I'm still getting used to the camera.

I will be updating this topic with more pictures etc as I go along.

Cheers!

You could strip it down to nuts and bolts, then rebuild it all in a day, so theyre perfect for fiddling with Thumbs Up

Cosmetics look good, which is always a bonus as sorting them is a real skill! Laughing

You could turn it into anything from a café racer to a cruiser Twisted Evil

I wrecked the engine, after fixing it, then sold it to a Bulgarian for £100.

Good luck with it!

Just a general tidy up really, sort out the rust, get it running better etc while trying to enchance my mechanical knowledge.

Yeah that's why I knew it would be a good bike to start out with!

I paid £450 which included an MOT, which I thought was ok in the knowledge that I should be able to sell it for that much. Weirdly enough I looked at a RXS100 a few weeks ago but was outbid on the old egay! Sorry though it's staying put!
