That's some trip!! How long do you think it'll take ? I presume you're not going on your own ?

I'd be very interested to read your Russia trip as that's something I'd really love to do in the next couple of years, so buck your ideas up and get writing Laughing Laughing

Iran and Syria are,nt dangerous country's as much as people think from what l,ve read from other motorbike travelers normal Iranians are quite friendly unlike the image shown by western media, plus the government is quite protective over tourists so on risky roads and sensitive areas there are military escorts. only no go areas in the middle east are Afghanistan/Iraq but the borders are closed there anyway and Israel is off limits if you want to leave by land after entering.

You could be fine, but if shit hits the fan, and israel or america or both attack iran, you might find that the attitude to western tourists might change a bit.

Personally, I would avoid potential war zones, i think bikes are dangerous enough without the added spice of flying bullets.

Will make good stories though so, take pics even if you cant be bothered to do a writeup.

Certainly sounds like an epic trip, as above I'd be wary in some of the countries you have planned, but as usual once you get to a place people are the generally the same the world over...

I'm toying with the idea of heading east next year but maybe not to the extent that you are planning. Will certainly be interesting to see how your plans develop... Thumbs Up
