must everything be a conspiracy? yea of course there are sum,the latest i have been told is of course that we are being sprayed daily with heavy metals and damaging chemicals..apparently they come from planes..

just because they don't disappear within minutes and spend a few hours spreading out across the sky to form a thin layer of mist..it is viewed as a conspiracy..as if they could get away with this without people noticing

Regulating emissions from aircraft is my job, so I'll make this short and sweet.

You're wrong.

The pictures you posted are of contrails. I could spend 30 minutes reguritating the science of contrail formation from one of the top scientists working on it in the world, but I'm not going to.

Short version. Contrails are formed when the conditions in the air favour it - you need ice-supersatuated conditions, which is similar to very high humidity, but at altitude, so its cold.
One of the products of combustion - even perfect combustion - is water, emitted as water vapour. A few particles of water vapour in these conditions cause the moisture in the air around them to condense, rapidly forming ice crystals. The contrails are a trail of very small ice crystals.
Important things to remember:
1. The contrails are more than 99% made of the water vapour already present in the air, the aircraft emissions only produce the seed for them to form (like disturbing supercooled water, ice forms around a seed particle or turbulence).
2. Emissions from aircraft to not include heavy metals, or if they do its in a sub-trace amount level. The emissions are, roughly in order of amount, CO2, NOx, SOx, CO, water vapour, particulates (PM10, PM2.5)
3. Emissions other than CO2 and NOx are in such tiny amounts that they're largely ignored - CO2 is directly related to fuel burnt, and is currently handled or going to be handled in assorted European legislation - EU emissions trading scheme being the main one. NOx is regulated under IACA engine standards, and consistently being tightened up. European comission are planning on starting project to look at NOx later this year.

Not sure how you managed it, but you've managed to get two normally switched on poster to get the wrong end of the stick entirely.

I've read about the contrail thing before, I'm pretty sure it started out as an April Fool's thing or possibly one those internet viral stories that do the rounds occassionally...

I might start one myself...
