front light blown day before test!

Working fine monday evening. Checked it today: dipped beem, but no main beam.

Is thsi going to cause a problem for my test tomorrow?

(test is in the morning, but is the bike still unroadworthy now?

You should have no need to switch to main beam in the test. Only maybe if one of the questions is 'Show me how you'd check the headlight.' But then you could possibly just turn on ignition for it to come on, or tell then that it comes on with the engine and point to the switch for high/low beam (but don't actually switch it). They don't bother to check the bike over, they just give you a bit to sign to say you declare that the bike is insured/MOT'd/whatever. The bulb should be easy to come by, just a 35w/35w type. Take the old one in to a shop and get them to give you a compatible replacement. It's easy to replace on a YBR - 3 screws to get the headlight apart and then the holder is secured by a sprung piece of wire. Just flip that back and you can twist and pull the bulb out.
