Hey there, i have only recently just had my 2000 TLR a few weeks ago and i have come down to St Ives in Cornwall for a holiday on it. Did the 300 mile trip down fine, not a problem. went for a ride out yesterday and had to do some really crappy slow town/holiday traffic. The temperature got to about 109 and i felt the clutch going, at one point it stalled at a roundabout.

Went and parked on tesco carpark for a bit to let it cool down as i thought i had just cooked it. Since then the clutch has been slipping like buggero. if i take it past 4000rpm all i get is revs and no drive, then it seems to catch up with itself at about 7000 and seems to settle back down to where i should be on the rev range, but if i give it any more juice, the same thing happens.

Im really up shit creek as i am 300 miles away from home with a busted bike. I have a guy coming to have a look at it today to see if he can help out.

I have taken the clutch slave cylinder out and cleaned the rod as there was a load of chain lube on it. But its still the same.

I have had a look on the search and a load of people are saying about clutch springs. I just dont know what to do at the moment.

If anyone can help please let me know, im in a bit of a pickle

if anyone wants to ring me then my number is 07795 498808 if you can help out!

thanks guys

If he doesn't know about bike clutches he should really have stayed at home Sad

Does the bike make any unusual noises when you are riding it?

The clutch is hydraulic check the bit where it attaches to the clutch casing there is a little rod bit which gets covered in crap or doesnt move far enough make sure its moving fully Smile and its also easy to put the screws in the wrong way round I think they are longer than each other this is to make sure it sits flush. Just giving advice on the issue I had with mine Smile

Changing clutch plates is not a terribly long or difficult job.
