Crashed my FZR400 a few days ago as per the spill counter.
Spent about 8 hours yesterday cleaning everything up, Hammeriting the engine cover, repainting the mirrors, bending the front 'nose cage' back etc.

The forks had managed to slip up through the yokes on the right hand side(but not on the left). I managed to fix this by loosening everything of and cramming the fork uppers back down into the yokes.

Took it out for a few minutes just to check they weren't going to slip through the yokes at high speed but it just didn't feel right...

Not explaining this very well admittedly but it was just wank on the front end, didn't feel very stable at all into corners etc.

SO, few things:
(The bike flew up a curb before coming to a stop)
- What should I check on the forks? The seals seem OK although a tiny bit of oil came up through the LHS one after the crash.
- How do people suspend the front end of their bikes in the air? I'm pretty sure I only managed to get the forks down because of how crap the suspension is.
- Any ideas how much/what type of oil I should use? Can't get a Haynes manual for my bike or find much info online.

I think you will need to get the whole front end checked out, it must have had a pretty heavy jolt to have the fork tube slip through the yokes, it could have even bent the yokes.

I would take the whole front end off and get the whole lot checked for damage and straightness. Something is probably twisted if it doesn't feel right.

Agreed if it doesn't feel right you have likely damaged to forks or something... have a real close look.

As for suspending the bike, depends what you have available to do it with!
