A 'clicky/tappy' noise has developed from the engine on my cbr125, it literally started after I had stopped for about 10-15mins at the supermarket, I came out and as I was driving through the carpark i noticed it. It is almost a diesel click, if you know what i mean.

It is coming from the top of the cylinder as far as I can tell, and is not really noticable above 3k rpm or when moving. My haynes manual notes things such as bent connecting rods, heat range of the spark plug amonst other such things. The oil level is fine, I am a little miffed as to why it has started so suddenly, I am going to ask someone for a second opinion later, but appreciate any input in the meantime.

Thanks.

PS. bike has done 7k miles and had a service about 1k miles ago,

Hi

Starting that suddenly I would be more inclined to check the spark plug is secure first.

All the best

Thanks,

the honda mechanic had a look and is going to take another look when i get my crash damage fixed if need be.

The noise get's quieter when warm, the 7500 mile service is due in about 200miles which I beleive checks valve clearances.
