hi am new to this site, i seen a bike advertised this is what it says,A newly painted nsr, white.it is very clean inside and out with 33k on the clocks. However the carb needs some attention, although it is clean it is causing the bike not to run properly, this bike Does start and has been running very recently!it may need to be towed, did anybody ever hear of problems with the nsr carburators or could something be wrong with the engine the bike is in good conditons and seems very cheap it is a 00 MODEL REG

Hi there,

I am new to this site to , I have a working Yamaha BWS and a project kawasaki 440 LTD, I have a few friends that are into bikes , they suggest:

Take someone who knows about bikes

Get it checked ( reg checked) just in case, as they say it sounds too cheap

I know this does not answer your question but I hope it helps Very Happy

I would always be very carefull of any bike thats newly painted. Tends to mean its been crashed, or been misstreated in a previous life.
Try running a HPI on it should give you a idea on its history.

As to carbs, very common problem on many a bike.

Depends how confident you are at fixing things. I'm not keen on messing with carbs to be honest though. If your buying it because its cheap you may well end up spending more than you can afford to get it running right and if its been resprayed its been dropped and maybe not looked after so other parts could be knackered.

I would ask yourself why they haven't serviced the carb or fitted a replacement so they can get much more money for the bike.

My advice: It sounds like a total dog - stay well clear!
