SRAD 600?

Im looking at possibly buying a SRAD soon if it fits my needs as im getting very disheartened with my 400.

From looking at sites like pistonheads and ebay it seems you can pick up something like this:

1998
17K miles
Good condition etc

What is the handeling like? Im coming from a 400 Sports for an example
Reliability?
Ive heard build quality is okay but the paint/stickers can be a bit think

I know carb icing is a problem for some SRADS, any others?

I was looking at a nice standard maroon and silver 600 SRAD the other night. For a suzuki made in 1999 the cosmetics were really nice, however it was awaiting an engine off ebay as it had suffered a crank failure at 22K. Could be a one of thing, or perhaps a previous owner had ran it low on oil, but I don't think they are quite as mechanically indestructable as the older Gixxer's. Treat anything in a none standard paintjob with utter suspicion, and be aware that a bike in good cosmetic condition will likely of had at least one owner who gave a shit.

i wouldnt be paying 2k for any srad (well maybe a very late injection 750) anymore. sub £1500 should get you a nice one. They are pretty hardy beasts and will run rings around a 400 in nearly every way.

I have an srad, i love it, its a lovely bike to ride i think, i really enjoy riding it. I paid £1600 for mine on a R plate, i think you can definatly get one for cheaper than 2k mate!!!
If you going from a 400 to the 600 you will love it
