I have just had to have a complete engine rebuild done on my Honda H100. Everything has been replaced, crankshaft, main bearings, big end bearing, conrod, small end bearing, gudgeon pin, piston, re-bored/honed, seals and gaskets. I was wondering how many miles it would take to run the engine in again (2 stroke), and what would be a safe procedure for doing so. I want to make sure its been run in properly because the engine has been mighty expensive to fix and i don't want any more problems occurring.

well i have a yamaha aerox and i too had to run it in, i had to run it in for 1000km (600miles) for the first 150 km it was 1/3 throtle then 1/2 till 500km then avoid crusing speeds in excess of 3/4 throtle till 1000km And it dosnt matter too much if u exceed these sometimes as long as you dont fully throtle it every wer! Very Happy

Whether you run it in or not depends on your point of view.

aye very ture that is the best way to embed the piston, the worst way to get every other component in the engine broke in.
run it in easy give it a bit of throttle every now and again, go up a few hills etc.
