Hi,

I've got my A2 test on tuesday and am looking quite forward to it but still have a few stupid questions.

1. Wheeling / stand exercise?

should i have both hands on the bars so i can use the front brake if the bike is trying to get away from me whilst wheeling it across the road? doing the actual U turn is not a problem i've been practicing it over and over including the use of shoulder checks indicators, and can do it 99 out of 100 times now.

2. L plates?

Are they still required front and back? if both is across the top of the front mudguard alright or do i have to get a stiff one and fasten it around my fork ?

Any other useful advice welcome also.

Thanks Yandy

1. Yes have both hands on bars and use front brake if you need to slow a little.

2. Yes L plates front and back are needed, but you can rip them up when you pass Thumbs Up

Don't forget to look over your shoulder before starting to push the bike across the road and general obs whilst pushing it around.

Shoulder checks when moving position in the road. Mirror checks when slowing down and speeding up.

Watch your speeds.

Good luck for Tuesday Thumbs Up

yea right hand covering the front brake (and this applying it when its off the stand)

and its a good point to have your right hand covering the front brake when or not moving (i.e. at junctions etc) to show your in control when anything happens.

and yes, L plates front and back

I've just come back after having my lesson today and I had a pre-test (my A2 test is on friday) and my instructor said I would have got 1 minor and 1 major apparently as I indicated slightly late (which I'm shaking off because it was a weird junction)

anyway take care and keep doing your life savers! Razz

let us know how you do Thumbs Up

Yaay Very Happy

I passed with 2 minors.
went a bit wide on one left hand turn.
And go 1 minor for undue hesitation?? think it might have been when i did a quick stop to let a car turn right in front of me but there was only just room for me the other side anyway.

But Still well chuffed.

Now to get my Divvy Restricted.

Sure does, took my L plates off and chucked em in the test centre bin !

saved myself 40 minutes on the way home by going on the motorway, Not recommended on a 125 but plenty of slow HGV's so i wasn't holding anything/anybody up.
