After passing my A2 today I want to get straight onto a bigger bike - perusing Autotrader I'm lost for choice.

It'll be a shame to see my trusty little City Fly go but I bought it 3 1/2 months ago specifically to get me to this point!

Firstly decide on style
Sports
Bikini Faired
Tradtional / naked
Cruiser
Custom
Streetfighter

Then have a look around

A good site for comparing is Bikez.com it is a bit slow to load up, but under the search box it has a "category" link, which arranges the bikes into their category. Smile (surprisingly)

Also looking on the big manufacturers sites is worth a look as well
Honda
Kawasaki
Suzuki
Yamaha
Triumph

Etc etc

On a biased view the Hornets are good Smile

Is it true Hornets dont have a fuel guage ?

I've always liked the look of the Bandit 600 S - anyone know what they are like restricted (I have done a search but couldnt find any definitive opinions - still searching)

A lot of bikes dont, but yes, that is true, it does have a reserve light, but i dont trust it. Smile

Hornets also have a small weird shaped tank, i ran out after 120 miles and i fit 15 litres in (17 litre tank)
Costs about £11 for 100 miles at currect fuel prices



Both the bandit and hornet are okay restricted. As they are IL4s which get a lot of the power at higher revs they do lose a fair bit, but not as much as the sports bikes

Twins are good for restricting as they get power low down. SV650 are popular i believe.
